(1). the protocol that's used for e-mail exchange.
(2). tag that's used to allow someone to click on a word or words and then directly send an email message from the web browser to the email address contained in the "mailto:" tag. Might look like this: <a href="mailto:support@handypassword.com"> We're always glad to answer you questions </a>.
